Enrollment growth in the region is predominantly Latino (Chart 1 of 2).

  • Latino enrollment has increased since 1990 by more than 600,000.
  • Anglo enrollment has declined by nearly 50,000.
  • Asian/Pacific Islander enrollment has increased by about 60,000.
  • African American enrollment has increased by just under 60,000.
