system since 1990.
- Enrollment in both Los Angeles County and outlying counties has
grown steadily.

early 1990s, then matched the rest of the region.
- The greatest cumulative increase in enrollment has been outside
Los Angeles County.

- Less than 10% of all students are in private schools.
- Private enrollment is more common in Orange and Los Angeles
Counties
