Student Access to school nurses is limited, but improving slightly (Chart 1 of 2).

  • Across the region, there are nearly 2400 students for every school nurse in the system.
  • The availability of nurses has improved slightly since 1994.
  • There is wide variation across the region, with Los Angeles Unified students having the lowest access to school nurses.

Student access to school counselors is limited, but also improving slightly (Chart 2 of 2).

  • The availability of counselors has improved slightly since 1994.
  • There is wide variation across the region, with students in the region outside of Los Angeles County having the lowest access to school counselors.
