Most districts have some English learners.

  • In the Five County Region, most districts have ≤ 20% of students who are English learners.
  • Conversely, in 5CR, almost 1/2 districts have ≥ 20% of English learners.
  • Specifically, in 5CR, approximately 1/3 districts have 20-40% of English learners.
  • Thus, though there are very few districts with a majority of students who are English learners, 1/3 districts have significant proportions of students who are English learners.

Most students attend districts with some English learners.

  • Thus, in OLACO, few students attend districts with a majority of English learner students.
  • In Los Angeles County, more than 1/2 students attend districts with 40-60% of English learners.
  • Thus, in LACO, most students attend districts with a majority of English learner students.
