Most schools have some English learners.

  • In the Five County Region, most schools have ≤ 20% of students who are English learners.
  • Conversely, in 5CR, almost 1/2 schools have ≥ 20% of English learners.
  • Specifically, in 5CR, approximately 1/4 districts have 20-40% of English learners.
  • Thus, though there are very few schools with a majority of students who are English learners, 1/4 schools have significant proportions of students who are English learners.

Most students attend schools with few English Learners.

  • In the Five County Region, most students attend schools with ≤ 20% of English learners.
  • Outside Los Angeles County, 1/2 students attend schools with ≤ 20% of English learners.
  • Thus, in OLACO, few students attend schools with a majority of English learner students.
  • In Los Angeles County, approximately 1/3 students attend school with 40-60% of English learners.
  • Thus, in LACO, 1/3 students attend districts with a majority of English learner students.
