Academic Performance Index scores for schools vary substantially in the Five County Region.

  • The aggregated Academic Performance Index score for the Los Angeles Unified School District schools is substantially lower than scores for other schools in areas in the region.

There is great variation in API scores for schools in the Five County Region.

  • While many schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District have API scores below 600, few schools outside of LAUSD have such low scores.
  • Despite low API scores in LAUSD, Los Angeles County schools in general are similar to schools in the overall Five County Region and the Outside Los Angeles County, which all approximately have around 33% of schools with medium API scores between 600-699.

There is great variation in concentration of students in schools with different API scores.
