The number of English learners continues to grow.

  • In the Five County Region, the number of English learners has increased more than 280,000 since 1990.
  • The number of English learners has increased almost 25% since 1990.

The proportion of English learners has stabilized.

  • In the Five County Region, the proportion of English learners is stable at about 30%.
  • In the Los Angeles Unified School District, the proportion of English learners has dropped to 42%.
  • However, Outside Los Angeles County, English learners has grown to 24%.
