Enrollment has grown steadily over the
last decade.

- Enrollment in the Five County Region now exceeds 3 million
students.
- More than 2/3 of a million more students have entered the system
since 1990.
- Enrollment growth in Los Angeles Unified School District stagnated
briefly in early 1990s.
- Enrollment in both Los Angeles County and Outside Los Angeles
County has grown steadily, though enrollment in the outlying counties
have grown more quickly.
Private school growth does not match
growth in public school enrollments.

- Public school enrollment has increased by more than 500,000
since 1995.
- Private school enrollment has grown by less than 12,000 during
that time.
